GracieMorrison
Gracie Morrison is the Clinical Research and Patient Advocacy Manager for the Grace Science Foundation. Her evolution within the organization began with scientific interest, but quickly developed into a passion for the innovative NGLY1 Deficiency research and family communities.
She was first introduced to the work of Grace Science in 2022 while working on a collaboration as a Research Associate at The Gladstone Institutes. In the Finkbeiner Lab, she investigated NGLY1 Deficiency phenotypes in a neuronal cell model using advanced microscopy imaging techniques in order to develop high-throughput screening platforms. Through this collaboration she was exposed to the research world of Grace Science full of dedicated scientists and an inspiring family community. This encouraged her to join the Grace Science LLC. full-time as a Research Associate working to further understand disease mechanisms in NGLY1 Deficiency neurons, and help target potential therapeutic pathways.
Recently, she has transitioned from the lab to work directly with the NGLY1 families in patient advocacy and support non-interventional clinical research efforts. Here she is looking forward to making a direct impact by growing the NGLY1 community, providing support for families, and evolving her clinical research skills.
Gracie received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Molecular and Cellular Biology with an emphasis in Neurobiology in May 2022. She is interested in the fields of neurodegeneration and neuroimmunology and is excited to continue her journey as researcher with Grace Science.
