Dr. Nicolas Lehrbach
Massachusetts General Hospital
Nicolas Lehrbach is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Molecular Biology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. Before moving to Boston he completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge, where he studied mechanisms of gene regulation in the nematode worm C. elegans. Dr. Lehrbach’s current research uses C. elegans to understand mechanisms that control protein degradation by the proteasome, and has revealed an unexpected role for NGLY1 in this process. With the support of the Grace Science Foundation, he is now working to identify genetic modifiers of proteasome function in NGLY1 mutant C. elegans, in an effort to find targets for therapeutic intervention in NGLY1 deficiency and other diseases
