Petra Jakob holds a diploma in Biochemistry and an MSc in Biotechnology from the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, Germany. In 2010 she started as a research technician in the lab of Dr. Lars Steinmetz at the EMBL in Heidelberg, Germany and joined the NGYL1 research team in 2013. Petra is developing a cell-based chemical and genetic screen to find new drug targets in NGLY1 Deficiency to improve the patients’ quality of life.
