Benjamin Story

European Molecular Biology Laboratory

Benjamin Story received his M.S. in Biology – specializing in Genomics and Bioinformatics – from the University of Oregon and is currently undertaking a Ph.D. in Computational Biology at the EMBL in Heidelberg in conjunction with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
Presently, as a member of the Steinmetz lab, he harnesses single cell sequencing technologies to investigate the complex heterogeneity that underlies many cancers. He also applies advanced computational methods to help elucidate the transcriptional dynamics that are associated with NGLY1-deficiency. He uses data from both mouse and fruit fly models to help progress our understanding of the disease.
